The Gender-Equity Index (“GEI”) is a modified market capitalization-weighted index that aims to track the performance of public companies committed to transparency in gender-data reporting.

Industry Leader score of A- from CDP

CDP runs the global environmental disclosure system. Each year CDP supports thousands of companies, cities, states and regions to measure and manage their risks and opportunities on climate change, water security and deforestation. TransAlta has disclosed with CDP for over ten years.

Governance Gavel Award: Best Disclosure of Corporate Governance

Presented by the Canadian Coalition for Good Governance, the Governance Gavel Awards recognize excellence in shareholder communications by issuers through their annual proxy circulars. In identifying nominees for a Governance Gavel award, CCGG considers those issuers with whom a board engagement was conducted during CCGG’s most recent engagement season. CCGG members also may nominate an issuer for an award.

Energy Intelligence's 2020 Green Utilities Report

The annual Green Utilities Report, published by Energy Intelligence, ranks 100 companies among the largest power generators from around the world, accounting for almost half of global capacity. This report compares individual companies, from both industrialized and emerging markets, and the accompanying analysis draws out key trends and conclusions.

Alberta Mine Safety Assocation: 2020 Safety Excellence Award (SunHills Mining)

Awarded for the best safety performance of all Alberta mines in 2019, under one million workforce hours.

Globe and Mail: Women Lead Here (2021) Recipient

The Globe and Mail’s 2021 Women Lead Here ranking, Report on Business analyzed nearly 500 large, publicly traded Canadian companies, evaluating the ratio of female-identifying to male-identifying executives in the top three tiers of executive leadership.
